Residency Programs

Tofte Lake Center provides a broad range of options for artists and arts organizations to participate in week-long residencies. We hope you will apply to be considered for one or more of our season's fifteen weeks of programming.

Residency Options (Applications are Now Closed for 2018)

Applications for 2019 will open on September 1, 2018 and close on November 30, 2018

*The Emerging Artists Program, sponsored by the Jerome Foundation, will be in its ninth year of offering artists of all disciplines from Minnesota and the five burroughs of New York City an opportunity to further explore their work, and to connect and share their process with artists across disciplines.

*The Gaia Fenna Memorial Fellowship, in its fourth year, was created in honor of artist and nature lover Gaia Fenna, a close friend and supporter of Tofte Lake Center.  This weeklong retreat is open to a Minnesota artist who exemplifies in their work and path Gaia's spirit, passions, and values.

*Individual Artist and Group/Organizational Residencies are offered for both individual artists and groups or organizations looking for space and time to connect, create, and reflect together in community.

*Guided Workshop Retreats can be organized around any creative discipline. These have included mosaic instruction, visual art and photography, artistic interaction with nature, and installation art.

Currently we are committed for 2018. If you have an idea for a retreat in 2019, please look for our future call for applications. The Guided Workshop Retreat Leader application window is September 1- November 30. All leader applicants will be notified by December 15.

The Guided Workshop Retreat Participant application window is January 1 - March 15. Participant applicants will be notified by April 1.
